Solution

You can choose a different PHP version for each domain and subdomain. There are also different interfaces available:

• PHP via FastCGI with Apache
• PHP via PHP FPM with Apache
• PHP via PHP-FPM with Nginx

The fastest way is to run PHP-FPM in conjunction with Nginx. In this case, however, it is recommended to switch the entire website operation to Ngninx and not to forward any more requests to Apache. Although this is the fastest way to run an application, technically it ignores Apache's .htaccess control files, which are common in many websites. If you want to keep Apache as a web server, you should use the "PHP FPM with Apache" interface. It is more resource efficient and faster than "FastCGI with Apache". "PHP FPM with Apache" is also the default.

The interfaces are available for all offered PHP versions. You can change interface and PHP version as follows:

1. Log in to the Webspace Control Center.

2. Select the "Sites and Domains" tab.

3. Scroll to the domain whose PHP version you want to change.

4. Click on the "PHP" icon.

5. Select the desired version and interface and confirm the selection with the "OK" button.

It may take up to 15 minutes for this change to the web server configuration to take effect.
